when accessing site URL defaults to install.php and message
"Site is currently unavailable"
Cannot get to login page at all.
Site has been working fine up til today.
closed site only 4 users
Hosting co reports no issues on their servers
what is going on???

This usually indicates the site is unable to connect with the database. You should check your connections using your control panel or phpMyAdmin (or other database manager, if allowed by your ISP).

Please ignore……the backend MYSql server has "issues" host is working on it to resolve
