silly question but how do i fix the gender of an individual that was created as a female instead of a male ?

  You cannot change the gender of a person with PGV. You can use the GDBI client for that.

  Less elegant, but evenly effective, is to edit the gedcom manually, find the person and change SEX F to SEX M. Then reimport the gedcom.
