You're running with a mix of 4.2.2 and 4.2.3. Your language files are at 4.2.2, and the rest of PGV may or may not be at 4.2.3. You cannot update just part of PGV - you MUST always install the whole thing.
You should upgrade your installation to the latest-and-greatest. This is 4.3.0, and is what you get when you download the nightly Tarball, created from the day's SVN.
There's a recent Help topic on how to download this Tarball and do the upgrade. The topic's title begins with "Repost: "

I've got 4.2.3 installed.
I'm getting a bunch of these Error 8's when displaying STATISTICS.
Any thoughts on how to re-index?

ERROR 8: Undefined index: stat_births
0 Error occurred on line 108 of file statistics.php

All the way down to last graph, with:
ERROR 8: Undefined index: top_surnames

Does this help?
