I wish I still had the exact error text but I don't. My host migrated me to a different server and for now the error is gone.

However, twice in the last few months I've gone to my PGV page and gotten an array of warnings and errors, largely consisting of things like Error 28, out of space. Parts of the page usually render, but sometimes (listing people with a certain surname) the useful part doesn't.

I don't think it's a php memory issue; I have a tiny GEDCOM with only 260 or so INDIs, and php config shows 128MB with plenty of execution timeout time. It sounds more like a disk space issue but the host hasn't been able to see why. I get this starting on the welcome page, so the welcome page blocks (among other functions) generate it.

Next time it happens I'll grab all of the details, but is there a common cause for this sort of error?

You didn't let your host move you to a WIN server, did you? I thought you were a LINUX man.

But you'll need to be more specific about where you were and precisely what you were doing to be able to determine if you have a PGV problem. They easily could have corrupted a file in the transfer, so to be proactive, you could simply replace the install with a current copy of the SVN tarball.

Thanks, the second link looks likely.

This happened on my previous server, I think both happened after the last upgrade to PGV. I am the lightest of PGV users and might not look at it for a few weeks at a time. In each case just going to PGV (welcome page) was enough to cause it, and the errors showed up on every page I went to.

I'm on Apache, but I suppose that could be on Windows these days. I was on the previous server (where I had the problems) for about 2 years, and whatever server I've been on for the last few days hasn't had the problem. I'll find out.

If I had a screen with the error to review right now, it would be obvious. Line numbers are called out and everything.
