This morning I downloaded PhpGedView-basic-4.2.2.zip
After extracting the file my computer slowed drastically. What I have found is I am getting tmp files in the temp folder at a rate of about 5 per second. They all start with rld… followed by 3characters or numbers.tmp
Each tmp file is 69kb
Any ideas why? I have deleted PhpGedView-basic-4.2.2.zip and the expanded version but the temp files keep coming.

Did you download from here on SF?
What unzip programme do you use?
What operating system do you use?
Have you virus-checked your computer lately?
I ask because there is nothing in the PGV package like that, or that would cause that to happen. So my thoughts are either you downloaded a virus'd version from somewhere, or there is something wrong or strange with your unzip software.
Just to be sure, I have downloaded and un-zipped a fresh copy myself now, with no problems.

Yes, I downloaded it from SF
I used WinRar to unzip it.
I am using Windows XP, OPen office & firefox
I run zonealarm pro and clamwin, both are uptodate
I have not downloaded any other files or programs.
I was working in Ancestry.com.au & Familysearch PAF

I've just been googling the subject, and I'm afraid it does look like you've picked up a virus from somewhere. This link is brief, but mentions exactly what you are seeing:
Just thought that I would update you. Antivir did find and delete the virus, Zone Alarm Pro and clamWin failed. Avira found: TR/crypt.ZPACK.gen TR/Dldr.Agent.adtj & TR/Dldr.Wimad.1395.
The viruses were in c:\ProgramFiles\OpenOffice\basis\
The bad news was, after Avira had finished deteting the viruss, and I had deleted over 50,000 .tmp files, I had to restart the computor, and that never happened. No matter what I tried the computor wouldn't restart. In the end I reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled everything.
Thank you for your help in identifing the virus, at least I am a little bit wiser today that I was before!
Colin
