While you wait for the next release, here's the method to update that block.
Go to Manage GEDCOMs and edit Privacy -> Edit..
Once there click on 'Save" (no need to actually change anything).
This may seem odd, but it will re-generate the Common Surnames list stored in the GEDCOM config file. That Stats block is now the only place that text list is used, and, as Greg says, even that will be gone for the next release.
