I'm having a few different problems with PHP on PGV....

    1. After filling in fields to add a new Father or Mother to an existing person and clicking the Save button I get the following error:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/html/genealogy/session.php on line 156

    2. After going throught the 4 steps of updating and importing records to the database you get to the page which says "Import Complete" and below it is the link
"Click here to go the the pedigree tree.". Clicking on this results in the error:
Notice: Undefined index: ZOOM_BOXES in /var/www/html/genealogy/config_gedcom.php on line 29

Fatal error: Unknown function: ZOOM_BOXES() in /var/www/html/genealogy/config_gedcom.php on line 29

    3. When trying to change any of the gedcom privacy settings I get the error:

Warning: Delimiter must not be alphanumeric or backslash in /var/www/html/genealogy/session.php on line 153

Warning: No ending delimiter '&' found in /var/www/html/genealogy/session.php on line 153

the '&' changed depending on which setting I try to change.

There have been a few other errors with logging in too.

Have I missed something in my configuration?
    System is:
    PGV 3.00.1 using MySQL
    PHP 4.2.2-17
    Apache 2.0.40-21
    on Redhat 9.0

    Thanks,
    Peter

      Hi Peter,

The error is not in PGV is my opinion but in your PHP version. PGV has known to run on older PHP versions but we now recommend to use version 4.3.x.

PHP version 4.2 on its own is known to be not very stable. Furthermore, PHP version 4.2 does not support some very important security measures that are implemented in PGV.

My advice is to upgrade your PHP version (I use 4.3.7 stable) and see if the errors still occur.

      Regards,

      Roland

Agreed with Roland... we ran into this problem back in Jan'04 or so.  PHP 4.2.x isn't officially supported with Apache 2.x - I had lots of problems with RH 8/9 out of the box because of their incompatibilities.

FYI, Fedora Core 1 worked flawlessly.  Haven't tested FC2 yet.
