I've not tried every report but am trying to find one that somewhat matches one that I can produce in Reunion. Purpose is to discover why some Indi/Family links are 'broken'. Each title would show name, INDI # with option for details.
(The below is not layout format, just info desired in text not diagram)
Source (Indi): BROWN John (I1243)
Father: BROWN Tony (I3482)
Mother: SMITH Mary (I3983)
Grandfather: BROWN Henry (I482) (both if known)
Grandmother: GREEN Marie (I3423) (all if known)
G Grandfather to how many are entered (all if known)
G Grandmother to how many are entered (both if known)
Son: list of all sons
Daughter: list of all daughters
Grandson list; Granddaughters
G Grandsons and G Granddaughters back to how many entered
Uncles, Aunts, Cousins (direct or removed) for as many entered; half or only direct.
The option would be to entered the source Indi #. I am assumng that if grand-, great grandkids and others direct and via marriage show, then links are valid. If BROWN John showed only his wife & kids w/o parents & other ancestors, I'd know I missed linking or have not entered them yet.
I tried the Descendants Report but it doesn't tell me who the people are(relation) and displays in box format or list

I really don't understand what you are attempting to accomplish. Much faster to run through your indi's and look that the TREE, but is the Expanded Relatives Report - ALL what you want? Not a chart, but a report, as that's what you've requested - a report.

The Expanded Relatives Report does not tell me who the people are! An A-Z list list doesn't help me if I don't know how they relate back to the chosen source Indi. I think there is a report that shows in box format relatives to an Indi but I'm looking for text version. So, I can go down the list, see each ancestor and each descendant for as many generations as I've entered in PGV. The sample I gave in my post is what I'd like to match back to Reunion so I can tell if I'm missing key people. I'm finding entries where the Indi doesn't connect all the way back to me, yet. It should be for one of three reasons: forgot to link child to parents; haven't entered a key person yet; I goofed, they don't belong (not as likely).

Mac, try "Branches" under the "lists" menu.

BRANCHES: how do I interpret? Does everyone with the given name entered link to me, from top to bottom? If I type "SMITH" does that mean all males with SMITH and all females with SMITH by marriage are shown? There are some only shown gender symbol and dot dot dot (…) Does it mean that (PS: I ask these questions as "Help with this page" is empty")

I have a feeling, that you want something else, but I am at a loss, what kind of relationships you are looking for:
G Grandfather to how many are entered (all if known)
Are you asking for a list, or a number of all grandchildren of G?
G Grandsons and G Granddaughters back to how many entered
???
Are you looking for a blood relationship? Any relationship at all?
Do you have individuals not linked to anybody that you want to find?
I am pretty sure that there are tools in PhpGedView to answer any such question. Is it possible that you are asking them all together? Can you describe the problem you want to solve?

BRANCHES shows just that - branches of the tree.
For the surname you enter (not GIVEN name) it lists every branch, starting from the oldest person in that branch (the "patriarch") and working down.
The gender symbol and dot dot dot indicate EITHER private information (for non-registered users) OR, further names not displayed in detail where they are the children of married women of the line (so have a different surname) You can however see the names if you hover your mouse over the gender symbol)
If you enter SMITH, all Smith's (regardless of sex) and their spouses and descendants will be shown or at least indicated.
It is very useful to show dis-connects between branches, and duplications.

Sorry Marek, used old window to reply (this forum is awful to use). Answers to questions: All G+ relative names, children, etc entered (name/Indi# suffices) and their relation to whatever person I need to display. Blood and marriage as that's how many eventually link back. Yes, I did enter some "orphan" families (wife/husband/children w/o kids) not to be confused with families I may have a broken link to thier descendants/ancestors.

Do I unerstand you correctly, that you would like to see in one report / graph:
1. the Individual
2. His/her parents/children
3. The parents and children of the parents and children (i.e. grandparents and grandchildren of the individual)
4. a spouse of each mentioned in (3)
5. children and parents and grandchildren and grandparents of all the spouses in (4)
6. children and granchildren and parents and grandparents of all people mentioned in 5.
7. etc. untill all the links are exhausted?
This will generally yield the whole tree minus any unlinked individuals. The graph is unreadable unless you have a very large piece of paper (or very small tree).
In a family or individual display there are options for viewing roots, leaves etc. Did you try those? Does it help?

The Circle Diagram (under Charts) may help you with the preceding generations of an individual. It will show you graphically who the individual's (and spouse's) parents, grandparents, etc., are - and shows the holes in the tree.

Victor's quite right - I forget to mention the chart, now called Fan Chart, as a great graphic tool to know where to concentrate on 'holes', but I don't think its what you are looking for. I highly recommend this in our FAQs to our users as an underutilzed tool

What about the "close relatives" tab?
In the config, you can check all the boxes so that it shows LOTS of relatives.

Just a small clarification, Wes. The tick boxes you refer to in the GEDCOM config are to change the close relatives displayed on the "Individual Facts & Details" tab, when you click on "Events of Close Relatives" check box.
That is quite different from the "Close Relatives" tab which is NOT altered by those check boxes.

The chart you're referring to is now called "circle diagram". It used to be called "fan chart".
The reason this was done was that "fan chart" doesn't translate well into some languages, and the translators had to resort to "circle diagram". So: "circle diagram" for everybody.
