SourceForge has somehow decided that I need to be mailed a copy of every post in two forum threads.  I went to those threads (after the e-mails started), and the monitor box was not checked.  Suggestions?

Wes - I hate to state the obvious, but surely this needs to be addressed to the Source Forge team? Nothing any of us can do about it. Here's the link to the bug reporting system:

    Wes:
Are you sure you haven't accidentally turned on the "Monitor" option at the Forum level?  You can monitor individual threads, or you can monitor the entire forum.

The same thing is happening to me. It is so frustrating. While I did not turn on the Monitor option at any level, in the "Account > Monitoring" page it does say I am Monitoring this entire forum. Yet there is no option on that page to remove it, and when I click the link on that page it says this forum is set to private. I am essentially blocked from accessing any page from turning the annoying thing off.

Just below that is an orangy-red line. Just below that is the FORUM in which you are currently viewing: HELP (as an example).
If you are logged into your account, and it is set to MONITOR, then immediate AFTER the HELP:  is UNMONITOR

Click that link to kill you monitoring and the link will change to "MONITOR".  I just did this several times and works like a charm.

The Support ticket responded with a direct link to that page, but they did escalate a part of that as a bug. See, the link to turn it off, given in an e-mail, assumes your view is from threat monitoring and doesn't help in turning it off. Also, on accounts page, where it also lists what you are monitoring, it doesn't list a way to turn it off from there. So I think that's why people would have that problem.

So, the procedure I outlined does not work for you? Then definitely a strange bug.

It works fine for me and it wasn't like the action was buried somewhere.  On the accounts page, I don't see any instructions for terminating the monitoring.

    Stephen:
I think "elliander" was trying to say that the Accounts page should have a way of turning monitoring on or off, much as the individual forums do.

To me, this isn't a bug - it's either an oversight by the SourceForge programmers, or it's a request for improvement that the user should submit to SourceForge.

I never access my Accounts page, and I find the navigation through SourceForge to be a real pain.  I have a bookmark set in my browser that goes to the Login page, and after logging in it jumps directly to the summary list of PhpGedView forums.  The only problem with this technique is that the Developer forum isn't in the summary list - I have to open one of the other forums first and then jump to the Developer forum.  This is a SourceForge bug, but I just cant be bothered to submit it.
