Happens to the best of us. GDBI used to have a great 'possible match' as you entered new people, allowing you to select from one of those instead of proceeding with the new INDI data entry. There's an outstanding RFE to add this 'semi-autocomplete' feature (it actually did a soundex name search), but until something like that happens, you'll simply have to merge each one as you discover them.
If you have a relatively small GEDCOM, simply list ALL individuals and scroll down the list to see possib;e dupes.

Wilhelm, there's an old program called Family Origins 9.0 for Windows that has a fine utility for finding and merging duplicates. I have a databse of 20,000 people and it is very fast. I occasionally take one of my gedcom backups out of PGV and run it through this utility.

Thanks for the tip, the program is now called RootsMagic and the free version did indeed look for duplicates in the Gedcom I fed it.
Saves me a tremendous amount of time, thanks once more,
Wim

Hi there,
I noticed that I had put in two identical persons in my database and fear there may be more. Is there a quick way of finding duplicates in PGV?
