I have just installed phpGedView v2.50 and I am having trouble with the configuration.
I enter all my information and click on Save Configuration and everything appears to work fine as it takes me to the page to create the administrative user.
But once I enter all the information there and click Create User, I get sent back to the configuration page and it says, "Your current database configuration is bad. Please check your database connection parameters and configure again."
When I look in all the fields on that page, everything is correct except for the Database Name field. In that field appears my database password.
I have all my permissions set correctly and I can't think of anything else to check. Has anybody seen this before? Any help is appreciated.

Seems something strange happened to your config.php file. Try opening it up in a text editor and see if the settings have the values you saved. You can also edit the file manually.

You may not have been as goofy as me, but I experienced something similar to this because I dropped all my old tables *after* I created my new admin account. The only way I could get out the mess was was delete all and start over.
