I just recently installed phpGedView. It seems to work fine except that when you click on the links for any of the charts it just shows a blank page. No error messages or anything.
It also doesn't do anything when you select a name from a list. The weird thing is that you can see the surnames so it's viewing the database fine.
If any one has any thoughts I'd be forever grateful. I'm thinking it may have something to do with permissions but I'm sort of new to mySQL and Linux so I'm not sure.

Hi Katiegirl,
I took a look at your site and everything works fine untill I choose a name from the list.
I know why it gives the blank page but don't have a complete solution for it yet. The problem lies in the fact that the URL has the word GEDCOM= instead of gedcom=. You can try it yourself by changing the word. You can get the patch from the patches section but I can't remember if it changes all the capital GEDCOMS.
Later when I get home I can take a look if the error still exists after applying the patch.
Regards,
Roland

Thanks so much. Using that patch fixed the problem with the lists.
I'm still having a blank page come up for things like the pedigree chart. Any other suggestions?
Katie

Dear Katie,
The pedigree chart here looks fine. Do you get at least one name on the chart or no name at all?
(taking this step by step)

Roland

I don't get anything on the page. No heading or anything... That's so weird. I've been using Mozilla but I just tried it with IE and it does the same thing.

Nope I still don't get anything with that URL. I even tried clearing my cache and rebooting to see if that helped but it didn't.
I'm using PHP version 4.2.2.

Hi Katie,
Thanks for testing Tom, as said before I do get the pedigree here with names. That doesn't solve it yet. As I am currently at work I can't do a lot more than this. Tonight I will check when I get home if it works there.
As for you PHP version, I would like to request you to upgrade to a newver PHP version. Current recommendation is minimal PHP 4.3.0. Mostly because of security issues. As for PHP 4.1.2 and 4.2.2. they are known to cause trouble with PGV. These are unfortunately quite buggy versions.
Regards,
Roland

Thanks for all your help.

I tried it and I don't get anything either.

That is really weird. I use Internet Explorer here and it shows up just fine.
Can you try this URL:
http://wedding.linucks.net/phpGedView/pedigree.php?PEDIGREE_GENERATIONS=4&rootid=I130&show_full=1&talloffset=1
Does this show anything?
