    Hi,

    In case you wonder...
    I installed XAMPP, Win x64, PHP 7.4.13-0-VC15, with svn-r7257-trunk
    It works great!

With Win x64 PHP 8.0.0-2-VS16, its not working. PGV is not updated to this PHP version, I guess.
    Will there be an update?

The PDF report is not working with the current version - 6.2.25
I have downloaded the latest version, tcpdf_6_3_2 and its working fine. No more errors. I have a PDF

In case you wish to upgrade the svn...

    Merry Christmas!

Upgrading PhpGedView to use a more recent version of TCPDF is on the "to do" list. It's just a question of reducing its size by getting rid of a bunch of font files that PhpGedView isn't using.

Support of PHP 8 isn't going to happen until somebody with access to that version reveals the error messages or describes the incorrect behaviour to me. I won't have access to 8.0 until I change hosting providers. That's not going to happen for a while, if ever.

    Over to you.

      Dont't worry about the pdf.
I guess you have a lot of TODO list
In case someone comes by, they know what to do to fix it on their own
They also know wich PHP version works.

I can install PHP 8 too separate with xampp (again), to mess around a bit

When I found something, does it go to -> Tickets -> Bug Reports ?
I'we been away from PGV for about 10 years... I forgot
Wow... I'm even in the changelog -> "Version 4.2.2 2009-08-01", thats funny!!!
I'm behind some typing and dusting of my fingertipps...
BTW: What is PHP ? :)

It's better to e-mail me directly : gkroll (at) keldine (dot) ca . The discussions about what's wrong with PhpGedView when you're trying to use PHP 8 could become very lengthy, and do not need to involve the entire on-line community.

I would certainly appreciate your help in sorting out the PHP 8 incompatibilities.

PHP is a software package that enables your server to interpret the scripts that make PhpGedView, among other programs, work. PhpGedView is written in the PHP scripting language. There are many versions of the PHP language, each with its own idiosyncrasies. PhpGedView will work with PHP versions 5.3 right through 7.4.

When PhpGedView works with PHP 8, the required updates will be posted to the SVN repository. There are other updates, not related to PHP 8, that are currently in the works and will get into the SVN repository as time permits.

I'm currently working on a whole bunch of translations to bring the various texts in line with English.

Yes, I can help you out with bug reports.
Currently I'm still in the 'installation' process.
It's been 10 years I used PGV last time.
It's also christmas and new year. And also family issues...

About PHP... I was just joking.
If you remember how bad the report system was for 10 years ago or something.
It was me, who re-wrote the entire report system, as it is today.
That toked me a year... I see it still works :)
Yes Greg, I'm an old PGV dev...

As family issues allows, I mail you some bug reports both for PHP 7.x and 8
I just need Zend Studio, again. :(

Log Out Greg and be with the family. I do the same...
