I got 2.51.2 uploaded to my server and configured, uploaded gedcom but will not show data from gedcom. Page loads with this message at top of page:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /www/ag/c/carolynf/phpGedView/functions_index.php on line 196

The gedcom (franklin.ged) uploaded to ./index and added a franklin.ged_conf.php and pgv-20031005.log files to the index folder.

The gedcom was made with FTM Version 8.0. I had to change the ID from I1 to I001 in the config, but don't know if that has anything to do with this problem.

Please advise what to do next, don't know much PHP.

      Hey Bob,

Just to check, which version of PHP are you running? I googled a bit and found that you need to have a version of PHP that is higher than 4.1.0.

      Hi Bob,

Did you import the gedcom after you uploaded it?  You should have also gotten a the file ./index/franklin.ged_index.php.  This is where all of the gedcom data is stored.

To import your gedcom, go to editgedcoms.php (Admin->Manage Gedcoms) and click on the "Import" link.  Or you can type in phpGedView/importgedcom.php?ged=franklin.ged

If you get any errors during the import please post them.  You should get an "Import Complete" message at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for the reply. That's it, I clicked import but did not click the clear datastore button. When I clicked clear datastore, I received the "Import complete" message. It's all working great now.

I have one other question. I uploaded all the files to a directory of "phpGedView" and configured it under that directory.
Can I rename the "phpGedView" directory to "familytree", and it still work without reconfiguring? Just not sure how PHP works.

      phpGedView is great, many thanks.

      Hi Bob,

Glad you got it working.  Yes, you can rename the directory without reconfiguring and it shouldn't mess anything up.
