On the message.php page all email addresses are validated first with JavaScript and second with PHP doing an IP address lookup of the host that they entered.
I have found on my site that people want to put their name in the field too along with their email address and this has caused problems. So I think that in the next version I am going to add a name field as well as the email address field so that people won't feel they need to put their name in the email address field.
I do not check for valid emails on the user accounts pages.

Maybe have something that validates the email address, then:
-if it is valid, it continues as usual
-if it is invalid, it warns you, then offers you a choice to allow it anyway.
Just my $0.02.

I'm sorry, I spoke too soon.
I was thinking of something other than what you guys are talking about. I was thinking about the contact address.
Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Hey John,
Should we have phpGedView check for valid emailaddresses?
At the moment, we can put in anything in the emailaddress field.
What do you think?
Regards,
Roland

Nooo! :-)
I want to be able to type something like:
"joe blow at address dot com"
so my spam problem does not get any worse.

-if it is invalid, it warns you, then offers you a choice to allow it anyway.
