Posting a 2nd question as I won't be home most of the day:

I have three Gedcoms on my site. Is there any way to re-order them short of having to upload them and in essence overwriting Gedcom 1 with Gedcom 3 and vice-versa? (the order I want to switch). Gedcom 3 will replace Gedcom 1 but I don't want to cut access to it.

Reorder them where? In the MANAGE GEDCOMS or on the Welcome Page pulldown?
The first is derived from the GEDCOMS.php file in the index folder, but I would not suggest mucking with it as there may be other dependencies. The second is strictly ALPHA. Change the display name of the GEDCOM. Of course any one of them can be set to the default GEDCOM, regardless of order.

No, the gedcoms are NOT alphabetical. I have Axxx, Rxxx, then Axxx where the 2nd Axxx shoud be 1st if alpha and the Rxxx 3rd. I don't want to touch that file!!! No way. Don't recall ever seeing somewhere I can say which gedcom should be 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

Unlike you and many others, the _few_ people who have tried to sign in, don't have a clue what to do and never return. The one I need to be able to navigate around, I need to make as easy as possible so want to promote 3rd to 1st. He's now in Poland doing research and I want him to verify any info that's helpful.

OK, you still have not answered the question - WHERE are we discussing the listing? If its on the Welcome Page - the these are most definitely displayed in the pulldown, in alphabetical order. I don't know what names you are using or any special characters.

There are several other solutions to the access issue for just one domain:
    1) List the domains in an advanced HTML box on the Welcome Page. Include a brief description of each, and then the link:
       The Axxxxx Family History, and
The Genealogy of the Rxxxx Family.

    2) Setup a subdomain for each GEDCOM and direct users for one particular GEDCOM to that subdomain. (Multiple installations of PGV). For instance - if three GEDCOMS, you could have:
    http://Axxxx.mydomain.com
    http://Bxxxx.mydomain.com, and
    http://Cxxxx.mydomain.com

And, there are other ways.  I don't know what you are trying to achieve and I am not sure exactly what you are discussing.

It is the pull down from the Welcome Page. Didn't know things would be complicated. Gedcom 1 I renamed "ORIGINAL…." and Gedcom 3 is "CURRENT…" but order did not change. In the middle is REBBES, which by alpha order should be 3rd.

I'm surprised you'd mention separate subdomains as doesn't that mean separate installs? I don't want to go that far.

I just want, in the Welcome dropdown
    CURRENT….
ORIGINAL… (in fact will find name to demote to 3rd place)
    REBBES…

What are you renaming and HOW are you renaming these?
It isn't the GEDCOM name as the DISPLAY TITLE that controls the Alpha listing.  i.e, I have five GEDCOMS, lets say:

GEDCOM name _                             _GEDCOM Title in PGV
kinman.ged                                                The Thomas Kinman Family History
gailey.ged                                                  The Thomas Gailey Family History
arnold.ged                                                 The Arnold and Moberly Family History
    myers.ged                                                  The Robert Myers Family
smith.ged                                                    The Ancestors of David Smith

On the PGV Welcome page, the pulldown would display these in the following order:
    The Ancestors of David Smith
The Arnold and Moberly Family History
    The Robert Myers Family
    The Thomas Gailey Family History
    The Thomas Kinman Family History
In other words, ALPHA by TITLE, not by GEDCOM name

yes, I did qualify the second option as multiple installations. Of course, there are the other options as well, like the one site with over 30 Gedcoms listed and java list of those by grouping.

BTW, the separate subdomains don't have to be separate installations, but rather simply point to the main welcome page for each of the appropriate gedcoms:

    i.e.

Axxxxx.myPGVdomain.com      would point to        The Axxxxxx Family History
and so forth.  Even better, for registered users you wish to direct to a particular name:
Axxxxx.myPGVdomain.com      would point to        The Axxxxxx Family History

They would then be presented with a LOGIN page and be redirected to the USER PORTAL for the correct GEDCOM.

This is what I like and what I guess I wanted from start, in my mind :) This will give me the "permanent" URL ability which I neglected so far. Will plan on this approach. It's why I kept the root directory of the subdomain (index.htm) available but didn't setup.

See fisharebest's reply on this query . I don't think this problem has been fixed yet.
