I recently upgraded from 4.1.3 to 4.2.3 by simply installing 4.2.3 into a new folder, copy the index and media folders from 4.1.3 to 4.2.3 and imported the gedcom.
Problem is that several tables or fields appear to be empty. First I had to set the field i_sex in pgv_individuals. It was empty.
Now I see that pgv_name is empty. Only newly added persons are added to pgv_name. How can I populate this table from existing data? Is there a script that does this?
What surprises are up next?
Thanks!
Jerry

Thanks for the reply. I think something must have gone wrong during import. I clearly remember thinking I should not forget to import the gedcom… Anyway, it looks a lot better now, thanks.

The symptoms you describe are consistent with NOT having imported your gedcom.
These columns/tables are populated by the import process
I just imported the gedcom again, now it looks OK. Still waiting for some surprises though… ;)
