I have recently been adding some media photographs (PHP 4.2.3) to a individuals in a single gedcom database. Many of these media items are linked to more than one person. On 2 occasions when I have linked photographs I have noticed that on one of the person's media tabs, I am left with the media item in both a red box and a blue box, even AFTER the database has been updated (and no admin option to accept/reject changes appears). I did notice that the media item still in red contains the correct media number (M79) whereas the media item in blue contains the media number m79 (lower case). This is the cause of the problem and the individual's gedcom has the line
1 OBJE @m79@
I can edit this to read M79, and this clears up the problem. However, I have never typed in the media object number, but just used the menus to link to media items, so I would reckon this is some sort of bug, but cannot identify the circumstances under which it occurs. Perhaps someone might know.

SOLVED! OK. It was my own problem of being too fast with the fingers, but others be warned - if you have the 'Link Media to person up' and you type in the object number of the picture you want to link to, say m79, you will see the correct thumbnail of the object (assuming it exists), with the correct id of M79. You then just need to be careful and make sure you click on the thumbnail. If you miss slightly (as I did) and hit the little button 'Set link' just below the thumbnail, before you select the thumbnail, then you will link to m79, which is what you typed in, and which does not exist. Hence the cause of the problem.
