Somewhere in this forum (can't find it now) I read something that said the 'Add Folder' option on the Manage Media page was removed in 4.2.1 because folders could be created during uploads.

I hope this isn't the case, as I find it quite useful and quick.

Users with just Editor level cannot create folders. If they request a new folder, I need an easy way to create one.

Also, I am just about to create a new folder to correct a folder with a spelling mistake.  I don't need to upload anything, just make a new folder, move the objects, then delete the old folder.

You'll have to create the new folder manually outside PGV, using FTP.  Be sure to give it the proper read/write/modify permissions.

The matching thumbnails folder will be created automatically when the first upload to the main (newly created) folder occurs.

To correct a mis-spelled folder name, you, the admin, will have to edit each of the media objects individually and change the folder name.

For the first object, you need to type in the desired new folder name.  After that, the new name will be in the folder pick list.  Alternatively, create the new (correct) folder name outside PGV as above, and then use the name from the pick list.

Can all the path names be corrected in the batch update?

I guess you have just confirmed what I thought I read.

I will miss that feature when I upgrade.  It seemed logical to have the Add Folder option on the same page where the Delete Folder options are present.

I should ask for it back in the Feature Requests :)
