After extracting the module from the ALL version (4.2.3) I experienced a significant slower performing application (opening the page of an individual person).
It might be coincidence and the result of another reason, but in combination with the non-existent module, I wonder of there is a significant reason why the Research Assistant is not available.
Please advice.

When you extracted the Research Assistant module, did you remember to also copy the proper module description file into the "modules" directory? Did you follow the instructions in the ResearchAssistant_ReadMe.txt file? (This text file is not present in the separate download file.)
