I have a strange behavior here, but not sure if this is a bug or shall be a feature.
Instead of 10 surnames my box shows 13. It tells me I have:
Müller 1358
Muller 19
Hauser 493
Häuser 8
Huber 483
Hüber 4
It seems it selects both surnames together and then separates it. But if I click now on my Muller it shows me Müller and Muller together in the person list. So I have to figure out the 9 in a list of about 1.400.
Is this really the intended behavior? Or does noone else has such a problem?

The top-ten surnames shows all the variants, and gives totals/subtotals.
The indi list groups names together, according to collation rules. So, if you've selected a language that collates ü with u, then You will get Müller and Muller listed together.

OK, I supposed this to be the intention. But then we should be consistent and should only show one name variation, perhaps the most used in the box of the top 10 surnames to have only 10 and not 13 as it is in my case.
Do you agree?

I think this is working as intended.

PS. It might be easier to understand the logic if you ignore the accented letters, and instead consider upper/lower case.
Suppose you have MULLER and Muller as surnames. Which do you show in the surname list?
The answer is to list them both - with totals/subtotals.
On the indi-list page, MULLER and Muller are equivalent, so both appear on the list.

<<show one name variation>>
The variations include
SPFX differences: "van der Waals" / "van Waals"
Upper/lower case differences: "ROACH" / "Roach"
Mc/Mac differences: "McDonald" / "MacDonald"
Collation differences: "Müller" / "Muller"
It is not possible to choose one variation over another in a way that will make everyone happy. The only "safe" solution is to show them all.
