Note that POL appears several places instead of "Poland"

Is that a PGV bug or is something in my GEDCOM preventing the use of countries.en.php ?

Wes, not a bug exactly. PGV has NEVER translated places. The file 'countries.en.php' is only used, ASFAIK, for lists like languages, flags, etc.

Its one of many PLAC related issues discussed here before, but not yet resolved, although I know it is being looked at.
