I've installed phpgedview for a customer of ours, and it's working great! The site is in German and English, so I'm seeing the known problem with Firefox 3 where umlauts and other special characters (in both the PHP interface and the data) are not being displayed correctly, roughly half of the time. Sometimes it changes from bad to good when you flip languages with phpgedview's drop-down menu, sometimes when you log in it changes too.
The server side and the GEDCOM file are fine, all in UTF-8 - you can even see the umlauts in the Firefox 3 'view source' panel, and they look fine there. Internet Explorer also seems good so far.
However, I've noticed a consistent bug if there is an umlaut in the name given to the GEDCOM in the administration page, whichever browser is used. On the right-hand side of the phpgedview interface, where the box shows the name of the GEDCOM file and today's date, the umlaut is not shown. It says Stammbäume when it should say Stammbäume (I think that means 'family trees'). This word is displayed correctly in all other places in the interface (as long as the browser isn't buggy).
Has anyone else seen this? Is there a bug tracker where I should report it?
Cheers!
Daniel

Can you post the URL (or email it to me?)
It could be that the block on this page (which is generated by AJAX) isn't sending the correct charset headers.
Seeing the site, and seeing what works/doesn't/etc. would make it much easier to diagnose.
