When I create a family tree report in pdf as well as html, some names are missing and not printed. Especially grandparents names are missing.

I use gedview version 4.2.1 but the problem exists in earlier versions too.

Is this a bug or am I just too stupid to handle it right ?
    Any hints ?

Privacy settings are one area where names could be hidden. Are you running these reports while logged in as admin?

Can we access your site to see the issue first-hand?

thanks kiwi_pgv for answering, although I had chosen the wrong forum...

I doesn't matter if you're logged in or not. You can see the effect by visiting my site at
        http://stammbaum.vonkuerten.de (in german only, sorry)

Just start creating a report at the start page, reports (Berichte), / tree (letter, landscape) Stammbaum (Querformat) .
You can keep the ID267. And you will see that at number 2 and 4 in the tree the names are broken. You can see just the first letter of the name. independent of using html or pdf

If you do the same by using the function 'diagram' / 'tree' you can see the full names.
So it seems not to be an access right problem...
Even if you're logged in you have these effects.

        Thanks for help

can you move this thread into the right forum ?

It is probably caused by the html markup used to underline the prefered names.

I fixed a similar bug a couple of months ago.  Can't remember if it was in reports or somewhere else.

So, it may have already been fixed in development code....

I remember now - I fixed this problem on the circle diagram, not the report.

This was slightly different.  Long names are being abbreviated to a single letter to fit in the available space.  This code was being confused by html markup.

The reports are now fixed (in SVN).

ps - "Open Discussion" forum is correctly for discussions. "Help" forum is for problem solving. Not vital, but more likely to get responses in the right place.

      Whow, that's fast.
So I will wait for the next official release and I'm looking forward to see this function working properly.

Thanks and good work, go on !
      I love this program.
