In this era of spam, etc. I look at almost anything with suspicion. Received the following note overnight. Maybe there's nothing to it and I should take it as is since someone evidently took the time to write it. But they don't refer to any ancestors of the named individual - I allow visitors to view dead people on my site. Is this something where you reply back and soon they develop a need for financial assistance? Have edited the email addresses and website url in the following quote. Lou

Hello:
I have enjoyed your website; for the last 3 days. I have been searching the Yungblut Family Tree for a long time and came across your website. My mother was a Yungblut (she past away 3 1/2 years ago. Your Yungblut vein connects into ours somewhere-just don't know where yet. The family came from Germany; some emigrated to the USA and other came to Canada. The families that emigrated to these countries, did better to survive then the ones that remained in Germany. There is a gentlemen in Germany that has been doing the Yungblut family tree as well; his name is Gert Yungblut. He comes over to Canada (sometimes with his son) and researches the family tree. He stays at my uncles farm, when he comes over. He says there is only 34 or 37 remaining Yungblut's alive over there. That is why I said that the family veins that emigrated did so much better here. He also said that during the hard times there not as many of them had as large of families as well.
I haven't search for records on any family tree sites like you have. But My great-great-great-great grandfather was Eckhert Jungblut (I have just a name). He had a son Johnannas Jungblut who married Maria Becker. They had five children that I'm aware of. This is the vein I come from.
But what I wanted to let you know about is the picture of "Charles Walter Yungblut" - "Oh My God" - he is a true Yungblut. For yours being a different vein - as generations go - he looks just like one of Uncle Gordon's or Uncle George's children on my side of the family. I guess some characteristics just don't change. Also the similarities in first names through the generations in both veins. Also alot of the Yungblut's settled in Ontario and are farmers or were farmers.
Anyways thank-you for the wonderful site. You have done alot of research and work. You can be proud of yourself or yourselves.
PS. The pictures seem to be more real, then just a name and info.
Yours truly,
Joanne Petryshen

I get a few of this sort of e-mail. So far, they've all been legitimate and have allowed me to connect with branches of the family that we knew existed but didn't know how to contact.
I'd say that your site's appearance in a Google search for the mentioned name has served the purpose of your site very well.
Go for it, especially since a canada411 lookup for "petryshen" yields 18 hits in BC, where the Telus node is located. The information that the person lives on a farm would narrow it down to "Joe Petryshin" - that's the only farm address in BC.

After my post, did the same thing, looking up IP, canada411 and found the same. There's just that overall sound that to me anyway just doesn't quite fit a german or french native tongue using english as a second language. I'll take a stab . . .

Petryshin is Ukrainian. That fits with the location too.
