Typed Groleau into the simple search box, upper left.

Omer Groleau appears in the families list but not in the individuals list.

It looks to be a larger problem than just Omer. On your Indi list it for Groleau shows 33 individuals (excluding the Private ones), but the search only finds 28.

Can you identify something common to all 5?

    Perhaps a language / UTF8 type issue?

I see that a number (all?) of your INDI records have a NAME tag, but no GIVN or SURN tags. I know that shouldn't matter, but might it be relevant?

(sorry its only questions, not answers, Wes)

Well, you've given me even more questions as well as more observations:

    1. If I select 'G' for the individuals list, I'm told there are _204_ individuals with surname Groleau. But click the name, then select "all" first names, and there are 36. (Not logged in, do I really have 168 private?)

    2. The search results and the indilist results show that two different methods are used to sort by name. We could pick one and eliminate some code?

    3. Not only is the search list smaller than the indilist, but (a) several persons on the search results are not surnamed Groleau--they have the name elsewhere in their gedrec and (b) some individuals appear twice in the search results.

    4. I examined the GEDCOM for four that were not in search and two that were. I did not identify anything true of all one set and false for the other. Search does not show P97, P761, P773, P906 but does show P171, P272 (Sort by PID if you want to look for others.)

    5. Some other probable bugs that should go on a different report if I verify they are really bugs.

The search result *should* be different to the indi-list results. After all, it would include people living in "Groleau-by-Sea", people employed by "Groleau World Domination Industries Inc", etc.

As to why Omer doesn't feature in the indi-search results is more interesting, but hard to investiage without being able to reproduce it on a local system (where I can add debug code, etc.). Try looking for "privatised" fields - perhaps those that are "hidden, even from admin"

Even if I spell out "Omer Groleau" in the simple search box, I get his two families shown but not his individual section. He's not the only one missing, just the first one I saw. Here is his exact gedrec:

I think Greg is right that it will be related to "privatise" features.

There is, somewhere, an option to suppress the spouse of a living person, even when that spouse is dead, or something like that. Perhaps that is (incorrectly) being brought into play on one list here and not the other. I do note that Omer has two marriages (FAMS records), so increasing that possibility.

Wes, you ask "do I really have 168 private?)" well, it certainly looks that way. The Groleau INDIlist actually says "Hidden : 173", the difference being multiple names / married names etc.

Maybe you need to review your privacy settings, if you think this seems wrong?

I was not aware of an option to suppress the spouse of a living person. I'd use it if I could find it. I don't think this would be the issue, because (1) Both wives are shown in the families search though Omer is not shown in the individuals search, (2) I have no facts set to 'hide from admin' and when logged in as Admin, Omer is still not in the indi search and (3) Omer is not the only one missing from the individual--just the first one I noticed. If I sort by pid, four of the first nine in the INDI list (when not logged in) are missing from the indi search but not from the fam search.

    Smaller GEDCOM to demo issue

I looked at the code but didn't see anything. Didn't have time to look hard.
I extracted from my GEDCOM Omer, his parents, both his wives, and his sources.
The resulting GEDCOM is much smaller but still shows the same issue: Put "Omer Groleau" (without quotes) in the topsearch box, and you get no individuals, only his two families.
