I don't understand what is the utility of "main FTP".
I understand that registered FTP are usefull to add image or other file to database. But I can't use it with my hosting provider because I can't connect on myself :(
Then, I will try to add a "local upload" type.
I start the multingual features too (externalising all static text in language php files).

At the moment the "main FTP" is required in case users wish to use it for uploading logos, or php header or footer pages as found in the Admin: Costmetics area.
However, I understand your concern - it would be nice to not require this capability to get phpFriendlyAdmin to work. I will examine the possibility of changing this requirement in the release following 1.5.
