Once a page fell into the supplemental index (pun intended), that page would rank very poorly and lose nearly all of its visibility. Recently, SEO experts have learned that Google has done away with the supplemental tag and merged its once segregated indices. While this does give industry experts everywhere a reason to cheer, SEO will, in many respects, remain the same. Even without a separate index, Google is now and will continue to assign its own ratings of importance and relevance to the pages it crawls and then rank those pages accordingly. -URL Parameters URL parameters: You've seen them but you just didn't know what you were looking at. Typically, parameters are associated with sites driven by databases. URLs with parameters look something like this: http://www.uptilt.com/ct.html?s=4oh,x64f,2mj,a8b1,4ao0,f3f3,1j8u (where as "id=45" is considered one parameter and "id=45&r=3&m=5" is considered three parameters). In the past search engines could not understand parameters and would disregard pages that included them. This is no longer true (Woo hoo!). Search engines grow more sophisticated everyday and many of today's search engines can understand multiple parameters.Unsubscribe Information You are receiving this newsletter because you are subscribed to our newsletter.
