Ok, I installed the formgen through fantastico using my cpanel (as i look through the forum, i see that was a big mistake....!) anyways, i use dreamweaver and could not find the .htaccess file im supposed to remove in order to regain access to my site. i can however get it through the cpanel file manger, but all attempts to delete it do not work. also, i used WS_FTP and was only able to transfer the file to my local host from the remote. so my question is this....HOW IN THE HELL DO I REMOVE THIS "HIDDEN" FILE!!!?? pls someone help........thanks in advance, much appreciated!

Its a bitch ain't it?
First, you need to check the file permissions on the .htaccess file. If its created the user "nobody" or by the user that the webserver is running under, then you have two options. Either login as root, and then delete it. If you don't have root access, you will have to execute the delete command thru the browser. Which means, you will have to write a little script that can be executed through the browser.

Another (easier) way may be to delete all the files installed by Fantastico and then reinstall FormGen using the files downloaded from this site?

i just installed all seems fine the input is saving to .dat
I did not change change .htaccess? and would not be keen to delete it as it contols my errors (404) and my <!--#include virtual.
I must now look to move the form to another directory or site, and assume I will have to change paths on a few files and copy over set permissions, haven't got a flash tutorial handy have you.
also the MySql seemed to build the table ok I wonder which will be the easiest way to access this info.

btw .htaccess will normally be found in your htdocs , publicHTML or /www folder
and should appear first in an alphabetical listing of file names
