This sucks..i have uploaded many files and pretty much it runs. Ive even ran oscommerce sites so i didnt expect much of a hassle here.
i downloaded the zip file, unpacked the directory, uploaded it to my server, set the permissions at 777 as per instructions including all files in subdirectories of form folder.
the problem? when i run the www.mysite.com/forms/index.php i get nothing but an 404 error and ive redone this 5 times..ive tried binary, ascii, and auto and none have worked.
whats the deal?

Well first of all, I would like to assure you that there isn't any hassle at all in installing this little program. Most of the people using this program are newbie webmasters. If they can install and run it just fine, then a big shot like yourself (with all those commerce sites you got running) shouldn't have any problems with it.
Check and see if you are actually accessing the correct path where you have installed the damn thing!

reading my post i guess i didnt come in too well on that..sorry for the negativity.
i feel so embarrased...i was just kinda stressed out earlier and it just seems that this would be easier than the other stuff i done...to clarify..i barely got thru the oscommerce without making any mistakes.
i placed the files in a folder right in the directory called "new" in my site directory the path is http://www.mydomain.com/new/index.php
i know the path is right..and i have php4 on my servers with apache/linux servers. I just figured that when that index.php started up i would be on my way..but theres nothing.
any ideas what this village idiot can do to figure this out?

Try starting the phpform process via a secure link. This and making sure all files were set 777 made the difference on my server. Even worked when I made a duplicate, 'phpform2', for making a second form for the same site.

well when you extract the tarball, the directory that you get by default is called "phpform". Are you renaming this?
