    Hi,

I had used phpformgenerator before and never had a problem making forms.

One day I decided to remove phpform and reinstall it. I have access to cpanel and was just testing the removal of certain scripts.

Now that Ive reinstalled phpform I am getting a heap of errors at Step 5.

    Here's what I get at Step 5:

    ******************************************************

    Step 5: generation status v2.09
thats it! now we're ready to generate your form. if you encounter any errors, please make sure that you provided the correct database information (if any), and please maintain that everything is case sensitive. also remember to give read+write permissions to the forms directory (located under the phpformgen directory). thank you.

Ok, everything is fine.. generating form...Form created!

    Generating form processor...
Warning: chmod(): Unable to access use/test456/global.inc.php in /home/praet123/public_html/phpform/copyfunc.php on line 20

Warning: chmod(): No such file or directory in /home/praet123/public_html/phpform/copyfunc.php on line 20

Warning: chmod(): Unable to access use/test456/bc_new.gif in /home/praet123/public_html/phpform/copyfunc.php on line 20

Warning: chmod(): No such file or directory in /home/praet123/public_html/phpform/copyfunc.php on line 20

Warning: chmod(): Unable to access use/test456/nav_m.gif in /home/praet123/public_html/phpform/copyfunc.php on line 20

Warning: chmod(): No such file or directory in /home/praet123/public_html/phpform/copyfunc.php on line 20

Warning: chmod(): Unable to access use/test456/process.php in /home/praet123/public_html/phpform/copyfunc.php on line 20

Warning: chmod(): No such file or directory in /home/praet123/public_html/phpform/copyfunc.php on line 20

    and it just goes on.....

    ******************************************************

The first time around it made the folder for the forms to go into, but second and third time around it didnt make the folders like it used to do ages ago.

When I had it working ages ago, I never touched the file permissions on anything.

I've now changed the permissions to the folder where phpform is installed and all the php files to 777 as someone stated in this forum. But still doesnt work. And get the same error.

I did notice though it made form1.html and some gifs and the admin folder in Forms folder. WHich I thought was strange.

As it used to put all relevant files for the form that u create under the Use folder and then under the folder that you create in the process of making the form.

here;s my link if u want to try it out and see what happens and see what im talking about

    Hope you can help!!!!
    Cheers

Assuming the install went OK.  In my equivalent install directory, the phpform directory has permissions 755, the use directory has permissions 777, the form name directories have permissions of 755.  How does this compare to your installation?
I'm not convinced that files and folder permssions have to be modified after installation unless they get some odd default during installation.
You error messages, and file/directory structure for new forms indicate that the generator can not find or create files necessary for copying into your new form directory tree (use/formname).  It appears that the generator can not find files to copy nor can it create forms into the new form directory.
I guess I would remove and reinstall again, but before the reinstall I would manually go through files and directories so I know any left over stuff is removed.

      Hi Tnteverett,

Thanks for that info. I actually did what you said last night as well. But to no avail.

I checked your test that you did "test_tae".

Your test had the same results as me.

A folder called "test_tae" was made in phpforms/use

And nothing inside the folder (same as me)

I looked in the phpform/forms folder and found global.inc.php, process.php, some gif's, admin & files folders and form1.html and form2.html

I double clicked on form1.html and I could see your test form.

This is what was happening to me last night. It just kept overwriting the form1.html in the phpform/forms folder.

I will reinstall again, delete any subfolders/files, make sure it's entirely gone, and make sure my persmissions are the same as yours. but like u said, u shld have to change permissions!
      it's driving me crazy!!!

OK so forms are being created but not deposited in the right directory.  Is the phpform/form directory being over ridden each time a new form is created?  If this is true then I can tell you how to work around it until the issue is resolved.
