ERROR: The use directory is not writeable

    Please help. I set all direcotries and files FORM and below to 777 and still get this error below when accessing the site. I've installed many server apps before. This one won't run.?? I have used a "phpform2" install folder as well as a folder I renamed with no luck???

    Here is the error.:

    File and Directory permissions
    The use directory is not writeable.
    Please give read+write permissions to all the files and directories mentioned above. Refresh this page after you have done so.

      Please read what the error says. "The use directory is not writeable." . There will be a directory called "use" under your phpform directory. You need to assign read+write permissions to it.

      DONT USE WinZIP to decompress the .tar.gz since you a "use" directory will not be created. No joke!

      Download WINRAR http://www.rarlab.com/ and it will correctly decompress the files.

      Musawir, I suspect this is why so many people have errors on install. You may want to note that even though the common WINZIP your archive it will screw up the files.

      Mine works fine now that I used WINRAR to decompress it...

      Ah! thats sad. What a stupid assumption by WinZip that just because the directory is empty it is safe to ignore it. I guess I should put some temp/garbage file in the use directory to make sure that it is created. Thanks for pointing that out.

        Why not just create the use folder on the server???

    I'm getting the same thing,   I see there are no answers to our problems,  how frustrating can this get!!!?
