    EX3 - 2007-11-20

Can someone please help me with this program? I'm super new to it

I uploaded all of the files to my host but I keep getting the Error message to Set read+write+execute file permissions to all the files and directories mentioned.

I have asolutly NO CLUE how to do that.

Your host will have some control panel utilities for managing your site.  You must be familiar with these utilities if you are going to have any success managing your site by yourself.
The control panel will have some FileManager type utility where you can view files and folders in a web like interface.  This utility will also allow you to change file and folder read/write permissions.
Alternatively you could use some ftp software to manually (command line) make the changes yourself.  In either case if you are not sure how to accomplish this then you should contact your host tech support for assistance.

      EX3 ~

Not at my usual workstation, am responding from memory, so forgive me if what follows is unclear or slightly off in any way.

Assuming you used an FTP upload client, you can access your website in the usual FTP manner.   Locate the phpform folder.  (probably in 'public_html' folder).  You'll need to double-left click to open the folder. (I believe you probably already knew that, but wanted to mention it anyway.)   When you see the specific folder / subfolder / file named in the error message(s), right click exactly on that folder or file. This will 'bring up' a menu of options.  In that menu, left click on attributes (it's at the bottom).  At that point, it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out how to take care of the permissions.

You've got this far, I believe you can do it.  Good luck with all your endeavors, and happy holidays.

Thanks for the help & quick reply, guys. I'll start checking it now.

I'm more of a graphic designer and trying hard to learn the web area. I know HTML coding etc, but I've never had to unlock anything before. I'll check back in the 1st chance I get.

Okay, This is just getting rediculos now. I went ahead and set ALL of the files to be readable and writable (just to make sure there were no problems). BUT, when I type in:

      http://www.MySite.com/TheDirectory/phpform/index.php

The page STILL pops up saying the EXACT same files need to Writable!

      "File and Directory permissions
The forms directory is not writeable.
The forms/admin directory is not writeable.
The use directory is not writeable.
The forms/admin/config.inc.php file is not writeable.
The forms/admin/data.dat file is not writeable.
The forms/form1.html file is not writeable.
The forms/process.php file is not writeable.
Please give read+write permissions to all the files and directories mentioned above. Refresh this page after you have done so."

What gives? I KNOW I did everything correctly, I'm no idiot. this is making absolutly ZERO sence.

I can help but what you are talking about requires access to your host.  If you want me to work with you, send me an email so we can get started.  It shouldn't take long.
