#2 register_globals are off

Can't install app - received error mesasge,"
register_globals are off (this program does not yet
work in such conditions , change register_globals to on
in php.ini)"

I do not have access to the php.ini - I am in a shared
server environment.

Please advise.

Yep, same here.
Normally I've had my own system running this app so I could
just edit php.ini, but I'm also in a shared environment now.
