#33 G5 64-bit CPU problem?

I do not know exactly if this is related to the post in the "Patches"
section, but I have two Apple Xserves configured identically, with PHP
4.3.10. The only difference is one runs on dual G4 processors and the
other runs on dual G5 processors. I know there was a hardware
transition to 64-bit somewhere and I suspect data is handled slightly
differently among the two hardware. But PHP-ExcelReader works fine
(albeit not flawless) on the G4, but it will drop parts of some fields
during import on the G5.

With many server (and even desktop) CPUs moving to 64-bit, this may
be a problem in the very near future.
