> Yep. What I really need is to find out what the "accepted" > (or defined) CSV standard is. Found this on google: I'm sure this will get me somewhere. However, its the double quote gig that has me in a quandry. By the csv standard (if its even a standard), numeric values will not be surrounded by quotes; text will be surrounded in quotes and should a quote exist in the text, it will contain two quotes. and then we have the possibility of embedded commas... ugh. ie: "text string", 1234, "with ""embedded"" quotes", "with emb, comma" I also found some more information on how to handle newlines (that they need to have quotes around them), but that doesn't work in OpenOffice. I suspect that best thing to do is simply to strip out newlines from textarea elements before going into the db. Is more dbf functionality in CVS? I don't have any dbf functions in 1.4beta3 Thanks, keep up the good work. -- _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ James O'Malley Altamente.com +1(787)296-1540 _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ |
