hello all! first of all: great job really!! I like phpESP I have got some trouble with the survey! We use it as a tool in a bigger community! As the recent survey probably did not store all the user-responses; i am in some trouble! For me it seemed to work but some students told me that they voted and i did not get thier vote! I use the phpESP 1.2 beta 3 without a sepcial user authentification and user - login! My boss is quiet a bit angry with me and i have to gain a bit in success with the next survey (seven hundred studends ;(`) so my plan to make shure that every responses is allright is a kind of confirmation! I want to make shure that every response is valid and reliable and that no (!!) student votes without a database storage! I thougth that it would be the best to _confirm_ every vote with a email response to the respondent! So i could make shure that nobody would think to vote without doing this! so the simplest way to get more security in my task is that: Am i Able to double the email - Backup: i want to get one and i want to let the respondent get one too! So i only have to put a variable (from the email adress of the respondent) - which i gain in a user-request in the poll - an put this result in the field of the so called Email-Funtion /the backup funktion: What do you think about this plan? I love this new mailing list; A very good thing! all my best wihses martin mar...@ur... one last thing: i had one item in a poll - a name field - text entry: this field included the name of the respondent;: from 700 respondent i did not get any person , named such like "Indiana" ,Idaho, Itaka, Italia.... and so on ; no _I_ at all: My boss wanted to kill me immitiately after finnishing the big survey ; Do you have any plan what happended! I looked at all the tables on the database .-.. nothing -... especially the answer-text Fields ... nothing at all! So it was very very surprising to find out that i - probably produced an I- bug! Perhaps i choose a wrong response type!? any thoughts? any help would be apreciatdet! martin mar...@ur... http://www.postnuke.de |
