[phpesp-general] Help with Error processing survey: Survey is not active

New installation through my web host and a first time user. 
Created survey, tested, activated but not embedded in a page. When I go to the link on the same computer, I can take the survey. When I go to the link on a different computer, I get the error message " Error processing survey: Survey is not active."
I have asked a friend to go to the link from their computer and they get the same error message. What has gone wrong?
