[phpesp-general] Opening phpESP

Hello,
I have downloaded phpESP-2.1.4.tgz and opened it with Winzip to phpESP-2.1.4 but I can't open it and extract the folders and files inside. When I double click the file all it does is bring up a notice to say that Windows cannot open the file.  I read some where that the version numbers should be deleted and leave a file of phpESP only.  I have done that but again nothing happens when I double click the file.  Can someone steer me in the right direction please.   Thank you for your time.  Peter
