Sorry to keep bugging you all but I'm also wondering if the collation  
in the tables should be latin1_swedish_ci (Swedish case insensitive)?
That is what it is at the moment.
Seems a little strange. Should it not be UTF-8?
Still searching for answers - perhaps grabbing at straws???
