[Phpeselgui-developer] good idea?

i have a good idea... i think so *smile*
we take the statusbar in a extra "<tr>" included svens idea...... o.k.. 
and in the free space we can put the chunks display!?
only it wont explode the execute time from the download page....
what do u think?

it will explode the time :-( every vd x takes realy long (as you can  see
by pressing at details, the PHP rendereing is < 1 second, the rest is
waiting for mlDonkey

Pango already wrote a patch which should increase the speed of
telnet-connections very much (haven't tested it yet)...

So this problem might be gone in the near future

hm, i've tested it (chunks display right beside of the statusbar).. over 
lan no speed will loss :) respective i don't note any loss...
we can integrate a script-execute-time-counter...
on monday i will test it over internet...
    [this week i'll never go to work... respiratory illness... time for 
homework! :)]
but actually the only question is the time which the telnet connect need..
when there is no lost over lan.. it doesn't over internet? hm.. i will 
test it!

and if you dont want that, i'll build my personal version! *g* ;)

I already thought about a directory "experimental_patches" and a
program to apply them (if you want me to, i'll try to create on... well,
not in php (i think this shouldn't be done via the webinterface, even if
it was easy to implement... i don't want my sister to be able to apply
patches to MY phpEselGui ;])

Any statements?

Should this realy be in the official releases? Shouldn't it be in an extra
part of CVS / an extra download area on sourceforge!?

If it we put it in a seperate directory and mention that those patches
are experimental in the patch-script (+ in a readme-file, for those who
want to patch manually) i don't think it would cause trouble... but of
course, we can also release an extra-package "exerimental patches for
current stable" and add a new cvs-directory for experimental patches for
the current cvs-version


I don't mind which of these ways we take... as long as we take one ;)

What about a vote? Right here, right now ;)
