Why does every country have the same colored unit. It seems like each country should have their own colored unit just as their main territories are colored. At least this is how all diplomacy games I have ever seen do it.

Most other diplomacy games don't color the territories which the units are occupying though. When the occupied country is the country's color you don't need to color the unit within the country to tell who owns the unit.

no not the territories colored there UNIT's. So if I am England and my home city terriotries are blue, my fleets and armies will also be blue. When I move when I earn a new unit after a fall term that unit will also be blue. Each countries units will always stay their home cities initial color. This will follow Avalon Hills game design.

Whether you prefer units to be colored or territories is a matter of taste. Personally I think that if Avalon Hill could have made the territories of the board change to the color of the territory's owner they wouldn't have made units colored.
