June 19th, 2006. - The phpCMS team announces the release of the OpenSource Content Management System phpCMS 1.2.2.
This release fixes a remote command execution vulnerability which can be found in all phpCMS versions since 1.2.0. Therefore it is strongly recommended to all users of phpCMS, to update their installation to phpCMS 1.2.2. In addition this version contains a number of new features and bugfixes.
phpCMS is an OpenSource Content Management System, released under the GNU Public License, that excels in its low system requirements, its high performance and especially its flexibility.
That makes phpCMS suitable as well for small private websites as for complex company web projects and highly frequented websites, including the incorporation of web services and external third party applications.
Unlike most other Content Management Systems, phpCMS is totally build on a flat file basis and does not require a SQL database for its operation. By means of an intelligent caching system and its speed optimized code base, more than 100 requests per second can be handled even on sparingly dimensioned web servers.
With a base of some thousand installations, phpCMS is among the most used OpenSource Content Management Systems in Germany and also counts many installations worldwide.
