I hope then that the POI classes will be callable if somebody
will provide a PHP class library that uses the programming
interface of the Java specification request "Scripting Pages in
JavaTM Web Applications" (http://www.jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?
id=223).

There are also some php packages available, that can write
excel and/or word documents, for example:

But this would be a task for a plugin and nothing we should
include directly into the phpCMS parser.
