It took me about 30 minutes to install this script.. I noticed right away the install script had errors.. so I found the docs to manual install and it was a breeze..  I didn't find myself having trouble until I installed something other then that WebCamXP..  only advice I can share really is that if you have the port setup wrong and it can't find your video..  Your account will freeze up for about 10 min and then you can log in again..  after figuring out the port was wrong I was in tip top shape..  This software is really inspiring there is much that can be done with it.  I was so inspired I looked for hours and hours for some kind of java or flash CB radio type voice chat software..  but I found that to be too difficult to find anything open source or free for that matter.
there is one other thing I'd like to do but im not sure its currently possible with out editing deeply into the script.  I would enjoy uploading my video to a remote server and let that remote server serve my video for me..  I believe the chat knows what your ip is from the moment you log in, and it tries to always use that :(
anyways bottom line.. this script works pretty darn good ..
its not hard to install..  I'll be keeping it around for all those occasions I'd like people to see my video with out having to install some lame program like Yahoo just to view and chat with me..
In case any of you are wondering what software I ended up using with phpchatnvid I'll tell ya.. its called VisionGS they have 2 versions.. 1 is freeware and it works better then I had hoped :)

Pleased to hear about your success..  I find it a little more difficult.
1: htaccess keeps install from running no matter what I do..  so I make it black.  Install runs.. but in step2.. it asks for user_name.. but actually it won't work unless you give it database_name.  It accepts that..goes to step 3.. finally says 'okay, no need to create a db'.  As per insattaltion instructions I have already set up db and run sql script okay.  But it apparently tries to do so again, and fails..'error creating table'.  And that is as far as I can get.
there seems to be a conflict somewhere.
2:you mention VisionGS.. I will look for that.  Can you advise me how to get aroudn the install problem?

      Thanks
