I realise this not a simple thing..... but..
Another useful feature is to be able to have per-
project bug references. ie for each project, the first
bug logged would be 1 then 2 etc,,.
Using global-scope references with customers often
seems confusing as the first bug they raise may be
#1234 then the next may be #1239 etc,,.
Implementation-wise the global-scope id could still be
used for table links and urls etc but the project-
scope id would be displayed in forms and reports?? I
guess a seed or last-used value for each project may
have to be stored somewhere (and updated) or check the
last-number-used-on-the-project when new bugs are
submitted.

err. that would require creation of a new table for each
project... and a second column in each table that references
the core bugs table.... it's really not practical to have so
many areas to go wrong
