Real names are more meaningful to humans than e-mail
addresses. Please considering using real names where
users may choose from a list such as assigning a bug to
a specific developer.
Would that work pretty well? Regarding the technical changes
for this, it should be small for HTML drop-down lists because
the display and passed parameter values can be different.

Placing the name before the address will make the list much
easier to quickly scan/read. i.e. "John Doe" <jdoe@domain.com>
BTW: phpBugTracker is an excellent package. Well done. :-)

Remember that the account creation page does not require a
name be entered, only an email address, so names may not be
available for display.

I thought I had replied to this bug previously... sorry for
the wait.
Corporate networks tend to have e-mail accounts that are
very similar to user names. Using your example, my listing
would be "rmiller (rmiller@host.domain.com)".
It is more helpful to display first and last names (sorted
by user preference) when they are available.
I tend to prefer "John Doe" <jdoe@domain.com> since it seems
to match with common practice, but anything would do. Maybe
user preferences could include (1. by name: first last, 2.
by name: last, first, and 3. by e-mail)

What if it listed something like:
email@address (User Name)

Moving this to a feature request

As long as real names are part of the list... :-)

It would be nice if it were a configurable option --
preferably an admin-modifiable format string
