Hi, I noticed a few issues with the html of the demo. Do you guys want any input on this at all or do you want me to wait until you have got further with the programming? It was points like the stylesheet reference being outside the head tags two "tr" s in a row using paragraphs inside a td cell (not needed) I can be really nitpicky if you want this sort of input. :-) I usually code in xhtml and I try to validate all my code, so if you want anything looked over... Hi, today is the 9th. We had good changes to the code until now. We will release a beta version soon, available as download package from SF. I started tagging some files in CVS as "beta_release_0-1". Changes made to these files will not be in the beta-release, but in the next. There will be the possibility to made bug fixes to the beta-release via a new CVS branch. Keep developing on the main branch, the beta-release branch will be locked (if fixes are needed message me to unlock files). My summary to beta release: Login/ Logout ========== OK, try to implement error message system up to Mo, 12th to have it included in the release New user form ========== OK, it is in the release. Language files ========== OK, opened till Mo, 12th body, config etc. ============ OK, opened till Mo, 12th SQL-Files ============ Bad. Hi, i've added a debugging parameter to global $conf array. If it is set to 1, display debbuging messages you want to for error detection. Brian. |
|
From: Brian <br...@br...> - 2002-08-08 11:10:34

Hi,
my suggestion is:
1. We'll define a global variable $msg in config_inc.php. (I think we need
not to register it in the session).
2. We have a function setMsg(String m), which adds the provided String to
the gobal $msg and logs the m parameter to database.
However m is just a error shortcut and the name of the corresponding array
field.
3. We have a function getMsg(), which returns the formatted error messages
saved in the gobal $msg. Also getMsg() has to clean $msg and log entries
older than xx days.
Hm. where to place the translation? Logging should be done in english only,
but displaying in user selected language.
We will do translation in the same way as done with the strings, before
sending the error string.
Sending error messages could be easy done by setMsg('file_n_found');
Displaying is automaticlly done by calling getMsg(); before content $go is
printed in body.php.
I've implemented bare bones of these two functions.
They do work for displaying errors yet. Have a look at CVS.
