Alpha 1 Released

Hello,

We are delighted to announce the release of the phpBB Knowledge Base Alpha 1 package. We hope that this marks a new stage in the development of the project. We estimate that there will be a number of Alpha releases, however we aren't prepared to comment on this so early into the project.

Current Features in Alpha 1

* Multiple Categories
* Sub-categories (1 level deep)
* Article Submission
* Article Editing
* Article Deletion

Getting Support

During the Alpha releases a minimum amount of support will be given.

Please be aware that for some support issues or bug reports we may ask you to re-install the MOD, clean tables in the database, purge data or other actions which are not advised to do in a live environment. Remember, you are on your own if you are using the Alpha code in a live enviroment.

In the Release Candidate phase we will fully support live installations.

Security Issues

If security issues arise we will not release another Alpha immediately. The fixes will be added to the SVN repository and will be available in the next release. Please be aware that you may be at risk if you choose to use the code on a live board and security issues are found. If you do find a security issue do not post it on our bugtracker, instead, email it to security~AT~phpbbknowledgebase-{DOT]-com, where it will be dealt with immediately. Please provide examples wherever possible. We hope to have a dedicated security tracker available shortly.

Translations

We are still looking for translators to translate the MOD into their native languages. We already have some translations, these are listed below. If you don't see your lanugage and wish to translate the MOD please send me a PM.

Documentation

We have a basic wiki available for your use. This will be evolving during the Alpha and Beta releases, with more documentation and information being added during the process. If you feel that you would like to contribute to the wiki you are welcome to, however abuse will not be tolerated. All documentation in the Wiki is released under the GNU Free Documentation License 1.2.
