You can simple create a new directory i.e. 'itemeditor,' put allowed files(=rights) in it an use .htaccess again for protection.
For admin products should item.php, size.php, color.php be enough. db_func.inc.php, config_db.inc.php, lang*, header* are needed for any action. Of course you need a new nav.php ...

ive searched the list but didnt find anything about admin rights.
What i want is to create a user who can add items etc but cant change databse settings.
Did i missed something or this this feature not wanted ?
